Early photos of Richard as shown in VH1's Before They Were Rock Stars. Being brought up in a musical family, Richard had opportunity to participate in a variety of jingles his father created for advertisers. Besides being an accomplished musician, arranger, composer, and vocal coach, Dick Marx's advertising "hits" include Nestle Crunch's "Crunchy crunchy crunchy Nestles Crunch is so crunchy," Ken-L-Ration's "My dog is bigger than your dog," Wrigley's Doublemint  gum's "Double your pleasure, double your fun," Kellogg's "There's two scoops of raisins in every package of  Kellogg's Raison Bran," and Dial Soap's "Aren't you glad you use Dial."
