Faith Lutheran - Celebrating
120 Years
August 18th, 2002
The Women of Faith Choir singing Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this
Place
Faith Lutheran invited everyone to join them in their 120th anniversary celebration on the morning of Sunday, August 18th, 2002. The result was approximately 200 people gathering to enjoy the memorable worship service at 10:15am, the catered outdoor cookout that followed, and the fun and festivities of the Water Olympics held in the afternoon. Alum pastors and church members from as far as Michigan attended the event, and the Hazard Methodist Church ended their worship service at 10:00am to join in the fellowship. Along with the inspiring music, acknowledgements, and reading of the Gospel from Matthew 28:1-20, Pastor Dean Hanson gave a message of exhortation titled "Holding on by the Roots."
