Located on a hill, a view of our town can be seen from the serene location of the Hazard Cemetery. In 1892 the Hazard Cemetery was originally established as the Danish Lutheran Cemetery but later acquired by the Hazard Township. The first three buried here were Carl Anderson (1894), Mary Toman (1895), and Christine Klindt (1896). Veterans buried here include Willie Rasmussen, Johnnie Asher, Dale Roberts, Albert Snell, Jim Sinkler, Raymond Tesmer, Leslie Rasmussen, Cash Wardyn, Robert Wardyn, Lyle Capellen, and Robert Erazim. A listing of those buried here is offered at http://www.rootsweb.com/~nesherma/Cemetery/hazard.html
