Deadwood Gang Visits Downtown Hazard, Nebraska
- August 5, 2000
On a warm Saturday morning, the population of Hazard increased by about 20% as a group of bikers largely from the south and eastern parts of the country, as well as two from Germany descended upon our main street. Remembering the time they once took shelter here during a thunderstorm, as well as their familiarity with the song, Rick and Betty D'Angelo from Arkansas contacted our site to say hi. After further correspondence, the D'Angelos talked it over with their traveling group and arrangements were made for a stop here during their annual visit to Sturgis, SD. As it's unusual to have visitors from array of distant regions, residents on hand were quick to get pictures with our newest friends. Elaine had cinnamon rolls on hand, and we enjoyed sharing jokes and stories for about an hour. During that time Rick popped a tape into his Harley's cassette deck and "Hazard" became the background music amidst the chatter. We also have available a group picture of the gang during their stop.
Psycho Pigs Roll into Hazard - July 11, 2004
As part of their tour through Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota,
Colorado, and New Mexico, the Psycho Pigs bikers club of Owasso, Oklahoma
stopped into Hazard for a bite to eat and a fun visit. Jim initially contacted
the Web site while doing some online travel planning, and after talking it over
with his comrades, decided to roll the dice and stop in. The group shared their
wit and fun stories for about an hour on a warm Sunday afternoon before heading
north to the Badlands. Upon their return home, they sent us a DVD containing
highlights of their trip. Their Web address is
http://www.angelfire.com/ok2/ozarkpress/ppigs/pigs.html and includes an
online scrapbook of their travels as well as a discussion group.
