The only woman in horseshoes, Delores Paitz (below). She told me how much
she enjoys competing in this event every year although she never bags a trophy.
Area men and women, including the Lutheran Brotherhood organization, volunteer in the concession stand bringing good food and smiles to the visitors and hard working competitors of Hazard Daze. Some of the delicacies served were chili dogs, bbq beef or pork sandwiches, nachos and cold iced tea.
