During our first trip to Dundy county we were greeted by the town of Max. I like tiny towns with tiny names. Lightening on the western horizon was the backdrop when we arrived at the county seat of Benkelman. There we took a right on US Hwy 61 north. Traveling through the long stretch of fields, a church steeple began to appear seemingly in the midst of a wheat field. Upon closer inspection we found this beautiful place of worship called St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
